Not Feeling Good Enough? It is Not the Truth — It is a Meaning You Created. And You Can Change It.

If you have spent most of your life with a quiet — or not so quiet — voice telling you that you are not enough, you are not alone.

Not good enough. Not clever enough. Not loveable enough. Not worthy of the things you want.

But here is what is important to understand: nobody taught you this directly. It is the meaning you attached to your experiences — the conclusions your young mind drew from the things you heard, saw and felt before you had the wisdom to question them. And because it lives in your subconscious, not your conscious mind, you cannot think your way out of it. But you can change it — when you work at the level where the belief actually lives.

Where Not Good Enough Comes From

This belief does not come from nowhere. It comes from childhood — from the experiences, words and moments that happened before you had the language or the wisdom to make sense of them.

It is not always dramatic. It does not have to be obvious abuse or neglect. Sometimes it is a throwaway comment from a parent. A teacher who dismissed you. Being compared to a sibling. Feeling invisible, or too much, or not quite right.

Here is the crucial thing: it is not what happened to you. It is the meaning you attached to it. As a child, when something painful happens, your young mind tries to make sense of it. And the conclusion it often lands on is: there must be something wrong with me. That belief gets filed away in the subconscious — and from that moment on, it becomes the lens through which you see everything.

Over time, your subconscious builds an entire identity around it. And then — because the subconscious mind is there to keep you safe and consistent — it does everything it can to keep you exactly where you are.

How Not Good Enough Shows Up in Your Life

This core belief is remarkably good at disguising itself. You might recognise it as:

  • Social anxiety and fear of being judged

  • Low self esteem that no amount of achievement seems to fix

  • People pleasing and putting everyone else first

  • Self sabotage — getting close to something good and then pulling back

  • Emotional eating or using food to manage feelings of unworthiness

  • Staying small — dimming yourself down so you do not take up too much space

  • Overthinking and second-guessing every decision

  • A persistent sense that you are waiting to be found out

These are not character flaws. They are the logical outcomes of a belief that was installed before you could question it.

Why Positive Thinking and Willpower Do Not Work

If not good enough were a conscious belief, you could think your way out of it. You could read the right books, repeat the right affirmations, build the right habits. But it is not conscious. It lives in the subconscious — the part of the mind that runs automatically, beneath your awareness, driving 95% of your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

That is why you can know intellectually that you are capable, loveable and worthy — and still feel like you are not. The conscious mind believes one thing. The subconscious is running a completely different programme. To change it, you have to go to where it lives.

How RTT Hypnotherapy Gets to the Root

RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) works directly with the subconscious mind — and it is one of the most powerful tools I know for releasing the belief that you are not enough.

In a deeply relaxed hypnotic state, we go back to the exact moments where this belief was formed — the precise experiences where your younger self decided something was wrong with them. We understand exactly what happened, and the meaning that got attached to it.

Then we give a voice to the part of you that has been holding this belief in place. Because that part is not the enemy — it formed to protect you. It has been doing its best with what it knew. We listen to it. We understand what it is still trying to do. And then we negotiate with it — so it can finally let go, release what it has been carrying, and take on a new role. Not as your inner critic. As your greatest supporter. Your cheerleader. Your best friend.

What follows is a full body release. A shift that goes deeper than insight or understanding. A felt sense — often for the first time — of what it actually feels like to be free of the weight of not enough.

What Becomes Possible

When the belief changes at the root, everything built on top of it starts to shift too. Clients describe feeling lighter. More themselves. Less afraid of being seen. Able to go for things they had been quietly dreaming of for years. Not because they have worked harder or pushed through. But because the thing that was holding them back no longer has a grip. This is what it means to finally live up to your full potential — not striving towards it, but simply being free enough to step into it.

What Clients Say

With Charlotte helping I was quickly able to go back and find the root cause of what has been affecting my life in a negative way for so long. What a powerful and positive shift!

I wish I had done this years ago.
